Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong (born February 8th, 1984) is an American actress, comedian producer, singer, and actress. Strong is best known because she was a part-time cast member of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. She is also the longest-tenured female cast member during the course of the show's history. Strong was cast on SNL while doing improv at The Second City in Chicago, where she moved after graduating from CalArts. The role she is currently in is star in the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! She also co-produces the series (2021-2024).



 



 Other roles include voice work on The Awesomes (2013-2015), support roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, the memoir This Will All be Over Soon, was published in 2021.



 



 The show was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist on the Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner suburban area within the ring of Chicago. She is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who worked as an Associated Press bureau chief and at the time of his death, he was running his own public relations firm. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse and has worked in several local hospitals. Strong's parents were divorced. Strong was a fan of SNL as a youngster, reenacting sketches with her partner and watching older SNL commercials on VHS. "I have a tape of the best commercials that I regularly watched. She told me that Phil Hartman was a source of inspiration for her.
